This only tells us one thing: IBM engineers are not able to follow standards. They should to make the life for the customers easier. The front cable on the p5 570 doesn't fit into a normal rack, it's also a dangerouse place for any cable. I had the pleasure to fit this machine into a 19-inch standard rack. In a multi-vendor company you can't have racks for every vendor, one rack fits all (that's why there are standards). Luckly ibm moved this cable on POWER6 machines to the back. This is not an issue about floorspace, it's about standards.

Nevertheless, the 570 is a nice machine :-)
