Just wanted to add my own two cents. As an ISV we sometimes go out of our way to use all the various names of the platform in our marketing copy to make sure we don't ever miss anybody on a google search.

Concerning our (KrengelTech) use of Symmetry Corp's offerings... I have had two IBM i machines in my basement for the past 7+ years and as the company has grown (i.e. remote employees) it became apparent we needed to get a system that was hosted within a better infrastructure. Specifically I was having issues with my internet (slow) and VPN (have a cheaper Netgear that just wasn't cutting it); and also we would rarely put fixes on the machine because that just isn't the top concern for a bunch of programmers :-)

That's when we determined it would be less expensive to have somebody else take care of the things we didn't want to hassle with. I sought out a variety of other IBM i hosting companies (there are more than you think) and most all were out of our price range except for Symmetry Corp.

We ended up leasing our own LPAR that has no commercial restrictions (i.e. you can run production workloads and it doesn't have to be for just testing/developing/learning/etc). We have a static IP and plan to host around 10 to 15 PHP/RPG sites on it initially (this is the fun part because we are moving Wordpress/MediaWiki installs off of Windows/Linux and onto our IBM i). The first site to be transitioned to the new cloud IBM i machine was http://OpenRPGUI.com (btw, let me know if anybody finds dead links :-)
