Note that for each virtual adapter created in the system, thats virtual Ethernet adapters, virtual SCSI adapters, and virtual fibre adapters, require a small amount of system RAM reserved.
On a system with ~60 LPARs, this overhead can amount to GB of RAM. Add 2 pairs of VIO servers and you can increase that overhead further again.
Utilising the Hardware based SEA can reduce the number of virtual ethernet adapters needed, but only for ethernet.
