Consider also FCoE (Fiber Channel over Ethernet) for your new implementations: Unified Fabrics are the present and future of storage. You have all benefits from robust fiber channel and flexibility of 10GigE. CNAs are now with same cost as HBA but infrastructure is cheaper and you can still attach FCoE switches (Cisco Nexus for instance) to core FC fabrics (using native or NPV mode). Multihop is also supported and MDS9000 switches supports FCoE protocol, as well as many storage vendors (EMC, NetApp) have FCoE ports, so smooth transition from FC and mixed fabrics are available solutions.
