I understand that IBM is trying to protect their revenue streams, however closing the door and causing customers pain at a time when IBM is hoemeraging users is not wise at all.
AIX is dying and fast and the only way to save it is to add features such as YUM and the ability to buy developmental type licences and be able to pick-up second user systems and get them on to some kind of basic maintenance.
