Just Back from Barcelona

I just returned from the IDUG EMEA conference in Barcelona, Spain, and I have pictures.

Actually, the pictures aren't mine. Frederik Engelen did an amazing job summarizing each day of the conference in words and photos. Here's a look at the first day-events and the nighttime networking session (the latter was sponsored by DBI Software and Triton Consulting).

Day two opened with a keynote by Bonnie Backer, Julian Stuhler and Tim Vincent. In the evening, my employer, CA Technologies, put on a great event that featured tango lessons and a wonderful tango dance show. And yes, I did some dancing myself.

Day three was packed with technical presentations, but there was also time for fun. Some nice prizes were handed out at the solution expo, and IBM sponsored the DB2 30th birthday bash at the Barcelona Zoo. It was great seeing old friends and meeting some new ones.

I encourage you to attend IDUG events. For the European readers of the blog, note that the 2014 EMEA conference is in Prague, and the call for presentations is now open.
