Dave Beulke’s blog post on improving big data performance got me wondering how IBM documents data warehousing performance DSNZPARMs.
I discovered that the "Managing Performance" guide has some good information about data warehousing queries, but nothing about system parameters set in DSNZPARM. The "Installation and Migration" guide has a list of parameters with descriptions, but I couldn't find a group of parameters specific to data warehousing. You just have to go through the list and read each parameter's description to find the ones that influence data warehousing queries.
Fortunately, Dave keeps his own list of data warehousing parameters and suggested settings.
Does your shop have a dedicated set of zparms for tuning DB2 workloads? Please respond in Comments.
